This is true of larger churches, but many churches still are not addressing the issue of personal finances. But, the tend is definitely changing.

Thanks for bringing up generosity. That is something that can easily fall off the radar. It is important for us to really learn about finances because otherwise we are just going to pick it up from all the wrong sources.

Great post! I’ve been talking about generosity for the last week! And how our views of money are based on what we’ve been exposed to, or taught. We were taught about money in school…how to balance a check book and a crash course on investing. But nothing on credit card debt! Nothing on giving! Nothing on issues we face today. So I too feel that churches should start offering some classes on finances. Thats why I’m reading your blog now, to help manage what God has me a steward over!

Craig, you are right on the money (lol). Thank you for this article. When it comes to money, many of us need to keep our perspective. This requires actively thinking about money and our handling of it. When we go on automatic then money will take over. Keep up the great work. God bless.
