Robbie,
Thanks for your comment.
In life it is always too easy to say what others should or should not be doing with their lives. Perhaps the responsibility is on us to help make funds available for those who we think would benefit from his program.
The problem for most people is not that they don't have $100 to spend. It is that they are spending it on the wrong things and the wrong places. When we see the value in something we will make an effort to pay what is necessary. I'm guessing if someone wrote Ramsey a nice letter with a detailed account of their budget that he would give it to them for free if they wanted to go through his class. I don't know that for a fact, but I'm just guessing.

Hello:

The only problem I have with Dave Ramsey is he has made his millions, lives in a castle, and has invested wisely BUT he needs to do more for the people who need his expertize and lower his prices on his financial classes. Most families who have never been taught financial rules and regulations and are in dire need cannot afford $100-$150 for this kind of info. Seems he could lower the price significantly to make his teachings more affordable.

God has blessed Dave with a lot of gifts and money, as a Christian shouldn't he spread it around? He will not spend the funds he has amassed in this lifetime, shouldn't he spread it around? Don't give people a fish....teach them to fish!

There are wolves in sheep's clothing. When seeking a Christian lawyer or other professional or service, one needs to perform his or her due diligence to verify that: (1) The person or business is truly a Christian; and (2) That they have the knowledge, experience, and skill to handle the matter. If the service provider is truly a Christian, and advertises as such, he or she should be happy to answer such inquiries. Be especially cautious when a secular organization seeks to refer you to a "Christian" lawyer, profession or service.

I get very frustrated when I see this happening. I hope it's mostly a righteous anger, but it burns me up. But I think we know that God will reward those who have been faithful, and those who have abused His name and His Son in an effort to rip off His children will be guilty of a greater condemnation. I just try to honor Him in what I do and trust He'll take care of the charlatans. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, Craig!

@JoeTaxpayer - thanks for sharing. This certainly does impact people from various backgrounds. I love the term 'affinity fraud'.

Indeed. For nearly a year I actively fought a mortgage scam called "Money Merge Account." One of the issues I fought was the fact that the sellers were instructed to sell it through their church contacts. The tie-in to religion was so strong, some people were claiming the founders of the program were "divinely inspired." Accusing me of going to war with the Lord. Affinity fraud is something all people need to be aware of.
It's not just impacting Christians. Madoff, the largest Ponzi schemer of all time is Jewish, and scammed his own people as well. Not just Doctors and Lawyers, but Jewish charities as well. Too bad.
