As 2010 quickly approaches some people will likely be attempting to read through the Bible in a year. The following downloadable resource can be printed up and used to help give your reading plan some structure. Simply put a check mark beside the passage as you complete each day’s reading.

Free Daily Bible Reading Plan 2010 (3152)My thoughts on the one year reading plan.
The one year reading plan has been a huge blessing to my spiritual life. I tend to be an all or nothing person. The structure of a reading Bible plan appeals. I’m already two months into my third year of reading through the Bible.
However, I do not think reading through the Bible in a year should be everyone’s goal. For some of you it may be more of a burden than a blessing. The year reading plan may force you to focus on content, not quality.
Sometimes one verse slowly read can mean more than three chapters quickly read. Regardless, the point is to find and develop some spiritually healthy disciplines this upcoming year.
All the best in this effort.

Thanks for the wonderful resources. I’m two months into a 8 month bible study class at church so won’t use it this year. I’ll save these links for 2011!

. thanks so much
Anne,
You should be able to download the reading plan right from this post. If you have any issues I’d be glad to email you a copy of the reading plan.
I did this one year in college and loved it. It was tough at times. I fought through some long chapters, but I had a companion devotional to go along with it that helped. My college minister also spent an afternoon going over all the books and how they relate. Basically, he shared the interrelationships that the books of the Bible have. Very powerful stuff to have knowledge off. Adds a depth to your faith.

Craig,
I didn’t even see this post until just now. I just posted a reading plan that I am going through for 2010 and in addition I am going to be reading a Proverb a day.
Last year I started trying to get through the bible in a year but I didn’t get started until the end of March – which led me to come up about 40 days short. Would you be interested in keeping each other accountable? Maybe we could even get a blog ring together of people who are interested in posting on their reading and do a post or so a week devoted to this? It would be nice to go through the bible in a year as a community!

@ Discipleship Guy
I’d be glad for us to keep each other accountable. We could send each other an email occasionally to see how things are progressing.
Anyone else need some accountability?
