		<description>I&#039;ve got a reminder set in my google calendar that sends me an email to remind me when the estimated tax payment is coming due.  It works pretty well - although - even with that I sometimes ignore it and then forget  until the last moment.  Proud to say i haven&#039;t missed one yet, but I can see how it would be easy to forget!

One thing to add: Withholding from wages/salary is treated as if it was done evenly throughout the year -- even if it wasn&#039;t. So if you or your spouse have a &quot;normal job&quot; and you were a bit late on an estimated tax payment, adjusting your withholding upward for the remainder of the year (done by filling out a new W-4 with the HR dept of your employer) can help to avoid interest/penalty.</description>
