Recommended: John Piper’s sermon – What is the Recession For?

I have previously explained that you can save money by listening.  Here is another example.

I was reminded of a great sermon when reading the Sound Mind Investing Weblog (members only).  I listened to this sermon by John Piper back in February or March, but it dropped off my radar screen until the post over at Sound Mind Investing.

I recommend you listen to, watch, or read the the following sermon by John Piper.  The sermon is titled: What is the Recession For? In it Piper acknowledges that God is doing more than we could ever know, but there are certain lessons we as Christians can take from this economy.

I took a similar approach in my posts on Spiritual Lessons from Difficult Economic Times.  God is always teaching and this economy has a lot of spiritual lessons for us.  If you missed those posts you can read them here:

Spiritual Lessons from Difficult Economic Times Part I

Spiritual Lessons from Difficult Economic Times Part II

Spiritual Lessons from Difficult Economic Times Part III

Or if you prefer you can just get the conclusions to the series here Spiritual Lessons from Difficult Economic Times Parts I-III Summarized.
