Saturday Round Up: On the Road Again Edition

Last Saturday I zoomed seven hours down I-80 from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Beatrice, Nebraska where I made a presentation at a church and then rushed back home Sunday after worship.

This weekend I am driving six hours from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Lander, Wyoming.  I will be making a presentation at Lander this Sunday.  So while you’re reading this round up I will be cruising for hours with my wife and three kids – yes, please pray for us :) .

Public Service Announcement:

This week has been a great week for Money Help For Christians.  As announced on Monday, I will be publishing articles on Bible Money Matters on a regular basis (see below under mentions this week).  This week I surpassed 100 followers on Twitter (not really that impressive in the larger Twitter world, but I am focusing on baby steps).  This week I also had my most traffic to my site.  Finally, as of this week I am now only 28 subscribers short of my goal for number of subscribers by Dec. 31st, 2009.  I think I am definitely going to surpass that goal.  If you haven’t subscribed yet, just click here.

Five Financial Posts I enjoyed Reading this week:

  1. Ever wondered what the Bible means when it talks about the camel entering the eye of a needle?  This is the most extensive (and biblically honest) article I have read in a long time.  Two Thumbs way up for Al Maxey’s article Needling Your Camel: A Study of Matthew 19:24.  I hope in the near future I can add some of my own commentary, but for today I am just going to pass along the link.
  2. Personal Finance by the Book has 10 Tips on How to Graduate College Debt-free.  A great reminder to parents and teens that there are debt free ways to do your education.
  3. Grad Money Matters introduces us to 20 Free Personal Finance Podcasts and News Sites.  I love listening to mp3’s while I run and drive so I enjoyed the list.
  4. My Life ROI had an interesting post on how to Use Twitter to Find a Job.  Coming back from the jungle for this furlough, Twitter was something I never heard of three months ago. So I am intrigued by all the possibilities with Twitter.
  5. Redeeming Riches helps us know How to Change Your Bad Money Habits.  A practical and biblical approach to improving your finances.

Purely Christian Reading

What were you in the jungle for?!

And yeah, Twitter seems to be opening lots of doors. I need to find someone who has actually gotten a job using those services I mentioned :)
